The air transport sector faces new challenges In the post-COVID19 era. Sustainability and innovation are of crucial importance while issues that were significant even before the pandemic (i.e. flight delays, inefficiencies in air traffic management, slot allocation rules, shortage of skilled staff among others) re-emerge in a more complicated manner especially as traffic is expected to recover sooner than originally thought. Unless these areas of concern are properly addressed, they may end up hurting connectivity, which lies at the very heart of the air transport business. However, there are also successful examples despite the challenges. Is, therefore, the industry ready to face all these global connectivity challenges and ready to learn from the successful examples?
